A woman is kidnapped. We are neither told anything about herself nor about the motive of the offence. Is it abduction against her will actually? Anyway, she does not seem to be very indignant when she is guided to a little theatre stage where she is immediately divested and sexually stimulated by a group of young women. Quite possible that this film would have been screened only short in porn- and long in underground cinemas without the cooperation of Marilyn Chambers. The screening of life of the Vienna doxy is the most successful and possibly the best German porn. Even in the USA, he caused quite a stir under the title SENSATIONAL JANINE. What a pity that the Americans had to watch this film in English dub version! Like this, a funny detail was kept from the audience: the jocular Vienna dialect, which took effect in porn for the first time and which in Germany, contributed to the popularity of this film. The film is not only the latest craze, but also provides great pornographic attraction. That is because of Patricia Rhomberg! She plays the character of Mutzenbacher outstanding and revitalizes this historical figure in a very stimulating way. She is effectively responsible for the bad quality of the following parts: Patricia Rhomberg was only available for the first part out of four. In part two, three and four, director Hans Bilian unfortunately is bogged down in idiotic silliness in order to deflect from Patricia's moderate successors. In the 1st part of the film, she is mercifully in the centre of all sex scenes. These are sometimes a bit absurd and keyed up, but meanwhile explicit and multifaceted and with this, completely atypical for German porn. The actresses and actors have the distinction of being simple. It seems as if they all come directly out of the folk, which give additional authenticity to the film. It is open to dispute which film is the better one. Both of them are of such high quality that their director Gerard Damiano is quite rightly considered as one of the most famous and as well best porn maker. Characteristic for his films in the 70ies is that sex is not only pictured as a sensual act but also as something tragical, even more destructive. An ideal sex world does exist neither in MISS JONES nor in WATERPOWER for Damiano who describes his films as an extreme form of expression of arts. It seems as if he wanted to demonstrate that DEEP THROAT, who was meant to be a blithe classic, was an exception, a delusion - what he IS indeed. Well, no one stroked on the idea that MEMORIES WITHIN MISS AGGIE originates from the same director. The heroine of the film (here acted by Norah Ashira) strays through her dreary home, she talks to a strange man in wheelchair, plays with a cat, brews tea, looks at herself in the mirror. She thinks of bygone times, whereby is always unclear if these are real memories or only utopian dreams. In flashbacks we see the young Miss Aggie (Kim Pope) who lets herself deflorate by an unknown man; the lonesome Miss Aggie (Mary Stuart) who gets self-gratification by a real doll before she gets a horny ass-fuck; and finally the obsessed Miss Aggie (Darby Lloyd Rains) who masturbates as a whore before an odd guys' nose in order to drink his sperm compulsively. Very sensual but somehow disastrous images present to our eyes. The film ends not a bit sensual but rather brutal. Something must have gone wrong in Miss Aggies life, cause in order not to be alone any more, she kills a gentleman who is accidentally on a visit to her but sadly wants to stay for a single night. At first she cuts out one of his eyes, and then feasts her eyes on his pains before she stops his life. As things turn out this man is the mentioned one in the wheelchair respectively his decayed body. This body is from now on the one and only reference person resp. reference body. It is over and over remarkable when porn shines not only with sex but also with suspense, convincing actresses/actors and especially with ambience. MEMORIES WITHIN MISS AGGIE is therefore a prime example! The film abducts ourselves believably into a dark dream world and creates in a mere 73 minutes whereof "reputable" films find too hard a nut to crack. This exceptional porn gets an "A"!

Her father makes over a stately home to her, which she occupies immediately and in which she discovers a strange looking glass. Masturbating in front of this mirror, she gets visions in which her father rises from the dead and chops out of the looking glass like in a horror film. Catherine accepts her father's invitation to a trip to the reverse side of the mirror. The goings on the other side impresses her a lot: Strange people amuse themselves by freaked out sex orgies. From now on, Catherine strolls niddle-noddle between two worlds. In the small introspective sphere of her home, she comes increasingly into conflict with her husband. The fazing but sensual world of her father allures her even more. Finally, she wants to escape the power of the mirror and her undead father. However, Catherine does not succeed, and one night she masturbates again in front of the looking glass. Her father gloomily comes to the fore like a satyr, fucking her brutally before he finally takes her to the other side. The world over there presents itself as sinister desolate scenery and Catherine realizes that she came to a sex inferno with nasty crackpots. But there is no turning back now. Catherine's daughter who gets ready to go the same way as her mother finally proves the bad end. The heritage of the looking glass continues. THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS is a great film, operated by peculiar, sweeping and not least highly erotic images. On the cover of the present DVD is written that the film acts as the pictorial arts of Hieronymus Bosch. It cannot be final cleared if this is true. But it is certain that this porn is an absolute masterpiece!

The plot of this film is inventive, but DEEP THROAT is not only the best known, but also the qualitatively worst among porn classics. Due to the chance to be accidentally the first porn which was provided with a relative high budget of 25,000$ (alleged sponsored by the mafia) and which was accordingly shot and marketed professionally, DEEP THROAT won a lot of fame. Finally, the benefit was comparatively high: The film brought in more than 600 millions Dollars. The genesis of the film rocked the boat repeatedly and still lets it appear in a doubtful light. Main actress Linda Lovelace, who lost her life aged 53 in 2002 by a car accident, shall be forced to sex on camera. Lovelace, who became a protagonist of the anti-porn-movement in the 80ies, wrote after her exit of the porn industry that it would be a crime to screen the film these days, because each person who watches that film, would also look on a rape. This is repeatedly controverted from other fanciers of the branch. Linda's appearance in the film appeals in any case very loose, and signs of violence at her body which adversaries of the film want to have seen, are obscured. In about 10 days of film shooting accrued trashy, historical important but at most amusing junk porn, which is only few sexy. Quality of stagecraft exists curiously enough at Linda only, and also Harry Reems who was impended by 5 years of arrest for his debut, acts at least blithe the character of the loopy doc. The music is betimes funky but with a clumsy air; porn scenes are without any esprit and largely ragged. The ability of director Gerard Damiano related to DEEP THROAT is far away from those of THE DEVIL IN MISS JONES, MEMORIES WITHIN MISS AGGIE and WATERPOWER. Even Damiano himself regards his most famous film as not succeeded. The brisance of the film was not owed to its quality, but alone to its social explosive power, which could fully develop in the social climate of the 70ies. DEEP THROAT respectively the tender subject oral sex were topic talk of the day, and after even the NEW YORK TIMES reported over the new PornChic, people from all social stratums stood in line for a ticket. The well-known feminist Camilla Paglia comment in the documentation INSIDE DEEP THROAT (USA, 2004) about the scandal film as follows: "DEEP THROAT was a milestone in the history of modern sexuality. For the first time, civil women of the middle-class went to porn cinema. He has really broke down traditional conventions." Various disputes with the justice and as well the American government under Richard Nixon, which not only tried to forbid the film by hook or by crook but also the often cited Golden Age of Porn, were the consequence. Watching porn had something rebellious and many highly ambitious directors had only one thing in mind: Sharing in this revolt and shooting the best porn in the world. Despite of its mediocrity, we finally owe a lot to this film.

Lord of porn Lasse Braun (see also SEX MANIACS and AMERICAN DESIRE) fuses in his film porn, arts and hippie being the sleazy and almost surreal way. Autumnal Amsterdam, liberal-hedonistic climate in the city as well as drugs must have had a magical effect on the director and its crew. Intelligent dialogues about sex and moral interfere with lacy anal- or blowjob scenes in delightful ambience. Therefore, it is difficult to elude oneself the curious ambience of this film. By the choice of Brigitte Maier, the film has an extraordinary pretty and interesting main actress. She really seems to be a bit shy, what goes fabulous with the impression that the other ladies and gentlemen seem to be exhibitionistic assessed hedonists indeed. The soundtrack of the film also deserves to be emphasized. Music was never handled so sensitive in porn yet. The sugar-sweet title song is in hard contrast with what we hear during the film: Crazy but always-cool hippie music. SENSATIONS was of course a complete success and had as well hugely attendances, which let some reputable blockbusters look pale. You are looking for the ultimate avant-garde porn? We warmly recommend SENSATIONS. Rating: Exceptionally valuable!

One without exit, and what sounds existentialist, shall exactly be this, because Gerard Damiano, master of subversively porn, finally got his inspiration from Jean-Paul Sartre's drama NO EXIT. How Miss Jones blundered into this forlorn situation, we get to know in the second sequence: On a rainy day, Miss Jones strolls through her flat. She runs herself a bath and slashes her wrists while sitting in her bath. We see her die, and a little moment later, she is located somewhere between heaven and hell. Sitting behind a plain wooden table, a man announces that she has no choice in her case and that she is condemned to hell because of her suicide, an inexcusable deed. Miss Jones takes it calmly. Unfortunately, it comes only now to her mind that she neglected something important in life: lust. She died indeed virginal and shall stay as such in hell forever. This thought is intolerable to her, and the secretary of the devil thinks that this penalty is too hard for her, too. Ignoring his chief, he appropriates a short adjournment to Miss Jones in order that she could catch up on the matter of lust. He points at a door that Miss Jones shall go through and behind that door, it gets going: We see Miss Jones experience all versions of lust in very drastic scenes. It was bound to happen: Lust pleases Miss Jones so much that life generally seems to her much more worthy to live. However, there is no return. The way to hell is all the harder for her now. A sad story - a dazing infatuating film! Porn that shows a suicide in the detail, porn without any hope for a Happy End - this is unique. Unpromising, unappeasable appetite hurries Miss Jones on. The undertone of the film is accordingly downbeat. The interaction of shrill music, hard sex and harsh, often frantic words, which Miss Jones addresses to her lovers, fortify this depressive impression. Pictures are chary and brusque. The devil casts his shadow on each scene. Not a bit of glossy erotic. Sex is shown hard and dirty (exception: the very tender dykes' scene). Pornographic scenes are characterized by stunning beauty and extreme erotic brisance after all. Georgina Spelvin as Miss Jones acts brilliant! Like his follower MEMORIES WITHIN MISS AGGIE, THE DEVIL IN MISS JONES is porn that you should watch best on a blurry day in November. This depressing film does not make you be in high spirits in no case, but with Miss Jones, Hardcore comes to you in the true sense of the word. The film was indeed declared as the "APOCALYPSE NOW!" of porn by people. Who has seen both films, knows that this comparison has its warranty.

Nobody takes anything serious and so it follows one absurdity after the other. The musical parts are great and sweeping! The dancing-scenes are very swinging and very sexy choreographed. If the viewer is not to be convulsed with laughter, he will flip and dance like the people in the movie and this is of course a very unusual reaction of the audience of a pornmovie. And allright: The hardcorescenes are explicit and intense, but it seems that their first intention was to provoke before to excite. Not a bad order for a porn, and so this film convinces completely. This film has a lot of speed, it's very funny, suspenseful in some way and notedly sensuous. In one particular scene a visible enervated woman asks for the way out of this stupid movie. Hey Baby, this is a very cool movie, so please stay! It was the time of free love, free drug consumption and so on. Hippies have been fighting against war, racialism, the bourgeois and prudery. Fortunately some of them were making movies and for this reason trash-films would nowadays absolutely impossible to produce. Alice in Wonderland is one of them, because it combines elements of b-movies, arts and porn and it couldt and should without hesitation run in student cinemas. The audience's reaction would perhaps be similar to the one of The Rocky Horror Picture Show: The folks will sing and dance - only with the difference that people here will at least dance naked or topless. Also recommended is this double-feature: At first Through The Looking Glass, a very dark version of Carroll's fairy tale, and then: partytime with Alice!

CALIGULA is a spectacular, sensation-seeking and very cruel history drama as well as a sex- and porn film at the same time. Above all, it succeeded as a cruel history drama and sex film, because only strong shortened versions were screened in cinemas in those days. Well, so what? CALIGULA is a breathtaking experience even if hardcore scenes are missing. However, with hardcore scenes, the film is not only getting brand hot, but also pleasant and additional provocative. If this film is actually about porn depends on the existing version. Even a 90 min. taking version of this - in this respect - immoderate work was screened on TV. You should better watch the 156 min. version, in which not only the cruelty of the film is revealed, but also delightful shot lesbian performances, ejaculations a.o. By the intense hardcore scenes in CALIGULA do not come from Tinto Brass. In his 142 min. taking origin version, Brass shot porn in a legal sense - the film IS a big sex orgy finally - but sex scenes were not put in the centre of scenery as usual. The producer Bob Guccione filled this gap.
